How to fit your boil-and-bite mouthguard
Always read and follow the fitting leaflet supplied with the product, because heating instructions can vary. A responsible adult should supervise the fitting of a junior mouthguard.
- Prepare hot water exactly as directed in the enclosed instructions.
- Place the mouthguard in the water for the stated time.
- Remove it carefully with a suitable utensil and allow it to cool until safe to place in the mouth.
- Centre it over the upper teeth, bite gently and press the material around the teeth as directed.
- Cool the fitted mouthguard in cold water so it keeps its new shape.
- Check the fit before sport. It should feel secure and comfortable without causing pain.
If the first fit is not secure, let the mouthguard cool fully and repeat the process only if permitted by the enclosed instructions. Stop using it if fitting causes discomfort or if the material becomes damaged or distorted.
